Lowry AFB - 1963/64, Orlando AFB - 1964, Kadena AFB - 1964/65. Trained with a crew that was se nt to Germany (Bitburg AFB, I think). Some may recall me as a nitwit (ha-ha). But seriously I was barracks chief, troop marcher, & class leader while we were in school at Lowry. Visited the site of the former AFB in Aurora, Colorado, a couple of years ago. Wow! Lowry AFB is now a modern, upscale urban development...a far cry from our delapidated, coal-fired, wooden World War II-relic barracks. The only remnants of the base that I could recognize were a couple of large aircraft hangers, with one being used as an air museum and sporting a retired B52 bomber on the tarmac. Anyway, when finished with training at Orlando AFB, because of the growing conflict in Vietnam, I asked for and received orders to be switched to missile duty in Okinawa. And now, a century later, it would be great to to touch bases again with former friends...Mike Rowland, Missileman, CGM-13C Weapon System
