I was assigned to the Tactical Missile School at Lowry AFB right out of basic training as a 44310L in Jan 1962. Upon graduation in June, three other of my fellow trainees and I received orders assigning us to instructor duty in that very school, which was located in the Black Hangar, much to our collective horror! We wanted to see the world in the operational Air Force - we\'d seen enough of Denver! All four of us eventually finagled our way out and were assigned to SAC with the B-52/GAM-77 weapon system. My time at Lowry was from Jan 1962 - Dec 1963. I tought Basic Physics, Blocks I and II, and Basic Electricity, Blocks I - IV in the TAC Missile Maintenance training program. Hated it! Absolutely hated it! Left Lowry and went to the 320th BW at Mather AFB in Sacramento, which was way better duty. Subsequently, spent 34 years with USAF/WA ANG, retiring as a MSgt in 1994.
