I recently received an email from the wife of an old TAC Missileer friend of many years, Richard Steele. We met at Lowry AFB in tech schools and served at Kadena at the same time.
Unfortunately, Richard is now suffering from dementia and she asked me about "DDT showers" that he keeps mentioning. I explained that since I was in the 873rd TMS and he was in the 498th MMS, we did not work together and I had never heard of anything like that.
I have noticed fairly recent entries from members of the 498th MMS so I thought this might be the place to ask.
Has anyone ever heard of such a thing, or are these statements by him just something brought on by his dementia?
I would appreciate any information anyone could provide so that I can pass it along to his wife.
