IN looking over the entries, I don't see anything from people in the Radar sites who would've guided the missiles/fighters to their targets. We were the 601st Tactical Control Squadron. I was in OL5 until the unit disbanded in Sep 62. My biggest memory was that our mission required 30-35 minutes to accomplish and it was estimated that the Russkys/East German Army could be at our location in 20 minutes! We tried not to think about it. Would love to hear from any other 601st types.
