Great Job Joe, Bitburg AFB,Germany 1961-1964. Ist Group on the MACE. 585th MMG. I worked at Missile Supply (Parts Runner) for the MACE Pads after the MATADOR was fazed out. I was there when President Kennedy was shot. Remember the Alert and the sounds of the missiles being warmed up. Hope to Hear from all of my buddies from Bitburg, 71TMG & 585th MMG. Col. Vetter was the group Commander and a statue was built in his honor near the Missile Maintenance group. We were the group that unloaded the MACE Missiles.I Remember unindentified aircraft flying over trying to take pictures.(F-105's from Base ran them off)See yall in Dallas.
