Lou Myers and Bob Mauger are trying to locate a Mace or Matador missile that could be put on display at the March Field Air Museum (located at the March Air Reserve Base in Riverside County, California). If you know of a Mace or Matador that may be looking for a “home”, please contact Lou or Bob.

I just spoke with Bob Mauger today. He has been volunteering at the March Air Museum, near Riverside, California, for over ten years and worked on the A bird in Sembach 1964-1966. He and I are interested in finding a MACE or MATADOR missile for the museum here. we already have a B52, SR71 Blackbird, and various other planes and missiles. If you know of any available missiles we are interested in putting one at the March Air Museum, which is located on the March Air Force Base, now called the March Air Reserve Base.

Joseph W. Hoover (Commander of Post 452, Mildred, PA)has verbally agreed to donate the MACE A to March Field Air Museum. And March Field Air Museum Curator (Jeff Houlihan) has agreed to accept the MACE A missile. The only issue is a shortage of funds at this time. We are working to find outside funding. I will try to keep you informed of our progress. Thank You all for your combined effort to help me with this project.
I thought this effort was put to bed when I looked into this. Last year March Field did not have funds to relocate the Mildred Missile. Has this changed?

We talked with the curator of the March Field Air Museum and he said he was very interested in the Mace missile. If you are in the area and could check up on the status of the Mace Missile in Mildred, PA that would be greatly appreciated. To Russ : I’ll be going up to my hunting cabin the week of Oct. 22. which is near Mildred, Pa. Two years ago, the Legion wanted to send it back to Wright Patterson. They showed me the papers. I have pictures from seven years ago and two years ago. They could not afford the repainting and maintenance. At the time I was looking for a static display for our VFW Post. I also talked with Ed Bradish on Oct. 2.
I normally make a stop there when I’m in the area.I can also find out if they still have it,condition and etc. Let me know if you men need any information
reguarding the Mace Missile.

On google earth at 41 28 27 56 N and 76 22 38 32 W there is a Matador. I believe it belongs to an American Legion. If you’re interested, let me know and I’ll check it out to see if it is available. I don’t live too far away from it.

I wonder what happened to the B-61 that sat in front of Bld. 901 at Lowry for many years. Harold Elliot still lives in Aurora, he might know the location of it.
