Russ, please pass these on to the TACMISSILEERS when you get a chance.
We had a good crowd at the dedication and there were two other Tacmissileers there besides Max (Butler), Frank (Roales) and myself. Charles Waugh from Bedford, Ky who was stationed in Korea with the Matador, Larry Johnston from Ft Wayne, IN who was stationed in Kadena with the Mace B.
I might also add that Jim Osborne, Curator of the museum gave a nice little welcome to all there and hinted that now that Miss L is done and the F4C Phantom was put together and the museum is up and running nicely at the new location, it’s time for the Air Force guys to start putting the B-26 together. At the end of the ceremony, we read the names of the deceased Missileers, followed by the playing of TAPS. Afterwards, we went inside and enjoyed refreshments and a behind the scene tour of the museum and the inside of the new location.
Here are a few pictures of the dedication ceremony.
