Russ,

I received a call today from an official at the Cape. Because of the tour not being allowed at the Cape on Oct 30th, the TacMissileer organization has been invited to view a scheduled launch on this same date. The launch is scheduled for noon. We will be in an area where all the news media congregate for launch viewings.

Because of who we are and what our organization represents, the news media will without a doubt be asking our members questions of our “past” history. I would welcome anyone to “mingle” with the news media as long as they don’t “stretch” the truth too far.

We will depart the hotel at 9:00 am the morning of the launch and arrive at the Cape around 10:00 am.

Keep in mind that I have to have everyone’s drivers license numbers & DOB to be allowed on base. To date, we have 130 registered for the launch viewing.

Russ,

I really hate to inform everyone of this, but have received notice that the tour of the Cape will not be allowed, due to heightened security concerns.

I have been in contact with “higher ups” trying to get this decision reversed, especially being whom we are and what we represent, but to no avail. No tours of any kind are being permitted in the foreseeable future. If this situation should change, I have been told I will be contacted. The problem here is that I can’t have transportation on “standby” mode in the event I should need it. If I should be contacted a week before the reunion,I could still make the tour work, but any less, would pose a problem. I do have 2 volunteer tour guides on standby, in the event we will be allowed to make the tour.
