I started out at Site IV on Barney Lambert's last crew, just before he left. Worked with Capt. Deward Johnson, Willie Boggs and Dave Gross. Then went to Capt. Ralph Gaede's crew. Just found this site today. Sorry I didn't find it in time to go to Orlando, but will definetly make it to Denver.

Combat Crew Chief, Commander was Capt. Bush, Mech 1 was McIntosh and Mech 2 was Sterret. We came on duty just before Christmas 1962 and left 3 years later. My crew was in the blockhouse when the bogus war message came to us. We were also in the blockhouse when President Kennedy was assassinated. Not much fun either time, but there was a lot of excitement. Hahn assignment was one of the most interesting in my 22 years of service even though I also served in both Korea and

Joe/Gary Thanks for Orlando. My best wishes for our new leadership. The trip was great! I wanted to take a few moments to thank the crew that was responsible for making it all happen. We all 'post' information to our old freinds, but take time to say 'Thanks' to the group that made it all possible. Our reunion in Orlando connected faces with names and I for one will not forget it. Orlando might be quiet due to recent events, but for a few days in October it sure was lively. Those there know what I mean !!

Trained at Lowry, Orlando and onto Sembach, assigned to the 822 and some Tdy to the 887 at Grunstad. Selected to assist with the Training Site transition from Matador to Mace in 1993 and remained after the completion as NCOIC until Aug 1966 when reassigned to the 6595 Aerospace Test Wing at Vandenberg AFB,CA. Met a lot of fine crews from Sembach and Hahn we trained at the Mace Training Site. Had 5022 runs on this site when it was decomissioned. Germany was the best tour of my 30 year AF career. Great fun renewing old friends at Orlando this year.
