I have been a regular visitor of this site for the past three years, after a buddy not seen for 40 years (Mike Wilczynski) found me on the internet and restruck an old friendship. He told me about the Missileers websites that he had just discovered. We got to meet at the Nashville reunion in 2005. It's been a lot of nostalgic pleasure to see the pics and read of Bitburg days. We have since located other MEMS and B-Bird folks from that era and swap information. Always interesting to find out what others have done during the 40-year gap. One of those, Ted Ebbinga, who I haven't seen in 43 years, is coming to the Tucson reunion. One of our NCO's who was at the Nashville gathering won't make Tucson: Harold 'Lucky' Loe passed away in Nov 2006. Glad I got to see him last time around. Wonder what ever happened to Gerry King, and Dennis Robbins, and Larry Heisse, and ....

Our whole outfit moved from Orlando in May of 1959 and went to Germany. They were still redoing the launch pads when we got there. About six months later we were actually dong what we were trained to do and I got out in July of 1960. Really enjoyed my 14 months in Germany.

Have thought about serving 60 ft underground many times and the good times I had in Bitburg. Met Max Butler by accident in Mt Vernon, IN. He had on his Tac Missileers jacket and told me about this web site. I joined the organization and am going to the Reunion in Tucson. Hope to see some of the old gang that helped shut down the Mace B in 69. Was on Capt Clements crew as a Nuc Weapons Specialist.

With the 71st for a few months, trained as a Tech 5. They couldn't find a place for me and sent me to Aircraft Nuc Weapons at 500 Area. The 71st was a top notch organization, proud to have been a short member.

I spent time at the Tainan AN/MSQ-1A Guidance site, the mountain guidance site between Tainan and Kaoshung, and the Makung (Penghu Island)guidance site in the Pescadores Islands. Would like to hear from some of the Taiwan AN/MSQ-1A guidance personnel. Would also like to contact Eugene Heaverly (sp?), a special weapons friend from Tainan. Also look forward to the 2007 reunion at Tucson, AZ.

Just anote to invite everyone to the reunion in Tucson, Az. the 2nd,3rd,4th of May 2007. If you have never attended our reunions, you are missing a great time. We will be touring the AMARC 'Boneyard', as well as a Titan Missile complex of which we will axually go down into. Also will be touring points of interest in the Tucson area. Will be plenty of time for you golfers to do your favorite thing also. Of course the real reason for the reunions is just to socialize with old buddies from that wonderful 'other' life. Its so much fun sitting around telling stories of our past experiances and memories, some true and some, well, not so true. Sure makes for a good story though. Don't wait until its too late to make your reservation at the hotel. Info is on this site of course. Also, annual due's were due this past Jan. 3years for 2 years due's is still in effect. Due's must be current to receive the quarterly newsletters. Max R. Butler Membership Director/ Treasurer

Can't express how excited I am finding this site. There are a lot of names missing though. Hope they find us real soon. Bet there are a lot of stories to tell at the reunions. Sorry I missed the Denver gathering I may have been in Denver with an old Lowry Buddy just a month or so before.

Just made all the hotel and plane reservations for Tucson, looking forward to seeing everyone there. Come on guys there isn't that many times that we can be together. So come on everyone that can let us be young again, even if is in our memories. SEE YOU AT TUCSON. If not you will always be remembered. As is the Honor Roll of our fellow Missileers.

Marge and I are looking forward to once again attending the Reunion in Tucson. It will be great to visit our old friends and fellow Missileers. Our dear friend, Paul Davis suffered a stroke in December and is doing well. Please keep him in your prayers and, hopefully, we and Willidene will join us in Tucson. Best wishes and God's blessings, Paul. Paul's e-mail is Willidened.com
