What a great site! I have renewed several old acquaintances from 36 years ago. I was at Sembach from May '62 through Dec. '64 ('A' Flight '62-'63; Gruenstadt 'C' Flight 63-64); Mech. I on Lt. Davenport's, Capt. Chuck Cage's, and Capt. Ray Berry's launch crews. I live very close to the location for the reunion in August, so I'll be there. Hope to see many familiar (albeit older) faces. Please, any old buddies who might remember me, send e-mail. I'd love to hear from you.

I signed in earlier, but my e-mail address has changed, and I am too dumb to correct it. I was at Hahn from 64 thru 66, and worked mostly at Site IV as a flight controls mechanic. Hope to hear from old friends, and I really hope to see a lot of you in Dallas.
Great Job Joe, Bitburg AFB,Germany 1961-1964. Ist Group on the MACE. 585th MMG. I worked at Missile Supply (Parts Runner) for the MACE Pads after the MATADOR was fazed out. I was there when President Kennedy was shot. Remember the Alert and the sounds of the missiles being warmed up. Hope to Hear from all of my buddies from Bitburg, 71TMG & 585th MMG. Col. Vetter was the group Commander and a statue was built in his honor near the Missile Maintenance group. We were the group that unloaded the MACE Missiles.I Remember unindentified aircraft flying over trying to take pictures.(F-105's from Base ran them off)See yall in Dallas.
I was stationed at Hahn from 1961 to 1965. I was assigned to the 586th MMS and worked at Site IV, as a guidance sys tech with a recycle crew. After freezing my postier out there for over two yrs I was assigned to QC section with Patchen, Hay,Williams, Thompson, Frazier & Nelson. There were others but I'm too old and crotchety to remember their names. I only have contact with Willie Williams. Some of you may remember me form the Rod & Gun Club since I worked there and was custodian for a while after Don Kizer rotated back to the states. On rotating back to the states I was assigned to the 6596TH Instrumentation Sq at Vandenberg AFB CA, I retired in 1969 then worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons for 20 yrs, retiring permanently in 1990 and now live in Santa Maria, Ca.I learned about this web site from Beryl Ristine, it's a great site and sure brings back a lot of memories.
Arrived in germany in 1958 to man a Guidance detachment at Ilmspan. After the guidance sites were shut down went to Bitburg and worked in missile maint. for the 71st TMS. We were one of the best, crew No. 8. Won Crew of the month 4 times in a row. Left to go back to the states in 1961. Great site, hope to hear from some of the old 71st TMS crew.
It's good to find there's an opportunity to renew old acquaintances from Sembach, Orlando, and Bitburg. Although I enjoyed my entire career, I have always treasured the memories of my Mace days. Started at 'A' Flight on Lt. Vaselenko's crew with Quentin Davis, Ken Larsen and Wally Coburn trying to make me a 'Mech 2', and I credit Bob Harn with my 'Bogie' nickname. Moved to 'B' flight (Jim Reider's crew) during the RFML conversion; TDY to Hahn to 'bomb up' Hecken Site; then back to Gr

I am planning to go to the Dallas reunion alone as I will be traveling on my scooter (any other bikers out there?)-- was wondering if someone who may be traveling alone would like to share a room to cut down on expenses? Please let me know as soon as posible. Thanks
I was in the Mace R&D program at the Cape in the late fifties and early sixties, as a guidance and control systems analyst. I think this is a super site. Keeo up the good work.
Great site. It seems that noone has taken up the responsibility of the 498th. I wish someone would so I don't have to. Surely there is someone more responsible. I remembered about 50% of my tour then and admitted to 10% of it. I'm not sure much of value remains physically or mentally.
stationed at hahn from dec 62 until dec 66. worked in the AGE section and at site's 4 and 5.where are all the guys who worked in maintenance and drove the MM1'S and hauled the missiles? would like to hear from you all.

i was stationed at sembach 1959---1960 would like to hear from other people that were there during that time frame
Stationed at Bitburg 1958-1961. When I reported to Transient Barracks upon arrival, I noticed that NCO's and Officers were wearing sidearms. I was told that some Algerians had raided an armory I believe in France. Nice arrival. I was assigned to the 585th Support Squadron and worked in the Orderly Room. Major Harold E Barr was the Commander at the time, and Col. Vetters was Group Commander. Lots more stories. Contact me.
Hahn AB 1956-1960 Matador maintenance (guidance) and then as launch crew chief (C Flight). Two AMLOs in Libya. Then Martin Co factory school in Baltimore on Mace B guidance (out of Orlando AFB). Bitburg AB 1963-1967 in guidance (Mace B) and then Maintenance Control NCOIC. Nuclear power and radiobiological research after that. Finished my 30 years back at Hahn AB as the Base Food Service Officer 1979-1984. Good site here, but lots of names I don't recognize. That can be remedied!
Stationed at Hahn AFB from Nov. '57 to Aug. '59. Worked at 'A' Flight Launch.
